Captions and credit

Add a caption per photograph and set creator and copyright details for exported files.

Select one photograph, press I and enter text under CAPTION. Press ⏎ or click elsewhere to save. The field grows to four lines, then scrolls. It appears only for a single selection.

Open Photographer from the Frames menu to set Creator and Copyright. These settings apply across photographs and are stored outside the catalogue. With either field blank, export preserves the corresponding original metadata unless the Copyright switch is off.

Exported metadata. Keywords and captions come from the catalogue. Creator and copyright come from Photographer settings. Captions, creator and copyright are written to both IPTC and the format’s native metadata fields for compatibility.

Copyright switch. Turning Copyright off in the export sheet removes creator and copyright metadata. Captions and keywords are still written.

PNG limitation. PNG export can remove the author field but may preserve a copyright notice already in the original. Use JPEG, HEIF or TIFF when an existing notice must be removed.
