Deleting, in Cleanup only

Use Cleanup’s red delete button to remove selected rejects, or all rejects in the phase when none are selected.

The button is at the bottom of the rail, separate from the phase selector. It has no keyboard shortcut. Its count shows the target set, and confirmation applies to that set even if selection or sync changes while the sheet is open.

Photos photographs. The system asks for confirmation and moves them to Recently Deleted. Deletion can sync to other devices. Frames cannot undo a Photos deletion.

Folder photographs. Frames asks for confirmation before moving files to Finder’s Trash. Disconnected volumes, stale identifiers and declined confirmations preserve catalogue entries, ratings and verdicts. Entries are removed only after the system confirms file removal. For a RAW+JPEG pair, both files move to the Trash. If either move fails, Frames keeps the catalogue entry and tries to return any file already moved. If recovery also fails, hover over the failure details in the activity queue to read the filenames and recovery paths, including when only part of a deletion failed.

Undo. ⌘Z restores files moved to the Trash when their recovery locations are known. Restoration includes both files of a pair, treatments and album membership. A failed restoration preserves the remaining recovery work for another ⌘Z; the status message reports what could be restored. Frames cannot undo the Photos portion of a mixed deletion. Any recovery offered after a failed move returns only files left in the Trash.
