White balance

Adjust temperature and tint with sliders, or press W on a RAW photograph to sample a neutral area.

Click the eyedropper in WHITE BALANCE, or press W, then click an area that should be neutral. A magnifier with a centre reticle helps position the sample. The decoder calculates temperature and tint from RAW data and saves both in one undo step.

The picker switches off after one click. Press esc to cancel and remain in Develop. Changing photographs also switches it off.

If the sample cannot be solved, such as clipped sky or a border, the decoder returns the as-shot values and the panel reports the result.

The picker is available only for RAW. Other formats, such as HEIC, show relative warmth and tint sliders.
