The rail

Choose’s left rail shows the current phase and its main controls.

The rail is 64 pt wide, with the phase numeral and title above full-width buttons.

Cleanup omits Reject because every photograph there is already rejected. Verdict buttons are tinted; a solid fill indicates the current verdict.

All rating and verdict shortcuts work in every phase. Hidden buttons do not disable their shortcuts.

Status bar. With one photograph selected, it shows the filename, rating, verdict and position, such as 4 of 297. VoiceOver reads Item 4 of 297. These details remain visible in Loupe with the filmstrip hidden and in Compare.

Each change is reported with ⌘Z, for example Kept L1004360.DNG, Rated L1004360.DNG 3 or Kept 12 photographs. A zero rating is reported as cleared.

New ratings appear immediately and animate left to right. Switching photographs displays the existing rating without replaying the animation.
